Teens Charged As Adults For String Of Armed Carjackings In Prince George's County, Police Say

Two teens are facing dozens of charges following a string of armed carjackings, according to the Prince George's County Police Department.

A 16-year-old teen from Upper Marlboro and 17-year-old from Lanham were indicted on a total of 74 charges following a lengthy investigation into a string of summertime carjackings.

They were both charged as adults.

Investigators say that the pair were connected to nine cases - seven armed carjackings, an attempted armed carjacking, and a stolen vehicle - that were all reported between June 4 and July 9 over the summer.

Every incident was reported in the areas of Bowie and Upper Marlboro. 

The 16-year-old was indicted on 43 charges of armed carjacking and other offenses, while the 17-year-old teen was indicted on 31 counts. 

Police noted that all of the carjacked vehicles were recovered.
